Temperance calling: "Battle of the Bards"

We were excited to be hosting this new competition. Twelve local acoustic artists battled to win the first prize - an opportunity to perform a headline slot at Temperance.

Six artists made it to the final but there could only be one winner. Aged just 13, Bradley (with Aus Booth) won by a landslide. Everyone was excellent but credit to our runners-up too - Taylor-Louise and Andrew Higgins.

Bradley will be headlining this with night with excellent support (tbc).

Three sets with intervals in between for drinks and air.

Bradley is just 13 years old. He joined a local musical theatre group two years ago at the age of 11, after a friend spotted that he could sing during a school production and that’s where his singing, dancing and acting began.

He has performed locally in Seussical the musical, Kinky boots, Sound of Music, Les Miserables, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and most recently, in Matilda.

He primarily sings musical theatre songs, so singing different songs, with an acoustic guitar rather than a backing track and having to write his own song, has somewhat challenged him and has certainly brought him out of his comfort zone...

Bradley first met Aus Booth when he sang at one of Aus’ open mic sessions. From day one, Aus has been a major support to Bradley, praising him, encouraging him and generally being a legend in the world of music. Bradley and Aus have only ever performed one song together at the open mic and have literally performed this set together five times in our living room.Bradley is not a trained musician, he has never had a singing lesson and is completely self taught - his singing is born from his love and passion for music and his enthusiasm and desire to please an audience.

Doors 7pm. Start 7:15pm prompt. Three sets and maybe a bit of a jam at the end.
